Position Information Working Title of Vacant Position Administrative Coordinator I/Reimbursement (Pre-Billing Supervisor) Job Type Full Time Posting Type City Employees Only Number of Vacancies 1 Department CHES INT BEHAV HEALTHC Division CIBH ADMINISTRATION Requisition Number 2024078 Number of hours worked per week 40 Work Schedule 8am – 5pm Monday -Friday Work Site Location Chesapeake, VA Position Driving Requirement O - Occasional Pay Grade GE08 Pay Basis Semi-Monthly Advertised Salary $44,950 – $59,559; Depending on Qualifications Job Description The Administrative Coordinator I/Reimbursement (Pre-Billing Supervisor) provides supervision for the functions of the CIBH Reimbursement Team related to Client Financial Intake and Assessment, Insurance verifications and service authorization and provider credentialing.
Each of these functions play a critical role in ensuring that CIBH bills clients in an accurate manner and that our accounts receivable remains reasonable and collectable.
Provide support to Reimbursement Supervisor in all aspects of pre-billing process.
Supervise and evaluate Account Clerk positions who complete Client(patient) financial Assessments.
Compute client financial responsibility for costs of services b compiling information on incomes and family size and verifying insurance coverage.
Information will be entered into electronic medical records.
Create, manipulation, and interpretation of various electronic health record reports.
Individual client accounts may need to be reconciled for changes related to sliding fee scales and/or insurance charges.
Credentialing – Position will assist or supervise staff who complete insurance credentialing and re-credentialing applications utilizing several electronic vendor sites for providers and licensed clinical staff Maintaining current staff credentialing status with various vendors/payers is essential.
Medicaid Eligibility provide general supervision of the Department of Human Services contractor that completed Medicaid eligibility for individuals.
Productivity and utilization of this service is also tracked and reported.
Authorizations Position will assist or supervise staff who complete insurance service authorizations.
Service authorization is an important part of the pre-billing process so that services that staff complete are billable and paid by insurance companies.
Providing and modeling exceptional customer services is a must.
Position will interact with clients that may have questions about the bills, financial responsibility or insurance coverage.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Vocational/Educational Requirement: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
Experience: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of four years of full-time equivalent experience in administrative support and supervision.
Special Certifications and Licenses: Depending on position, may require a valid driver’s license in compliance with City Driving Standards.
Special Requirements: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with Client/patient registration, insurance verification and authorization, credentialing and proficiency in Microsoft Office software, as well as excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
A general understanding of medical insurance billing is helpful.
Experience in healthcare setting within the last five years is preferred.
An acceptable criminal history and driving records report are required.
