Program Manager - Livelihood & Food Security
International Relief – Virginia Beach, VA
Operation Blessing (OB) is seeking an experienced Programs Manager to provide strategic planning, development, technical oversight, and general management for OB’s Livelihood and Food Security programs.
This professional will oversee microenterprise, agriculture, animal husbandry, and vocational training initiatives.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications
Two years working knowledge in microenterprise, agriculture, food security, nutrition, or livelihood programs in a nonprofit organization
Bachelors’ degree in Business, Agribusiness, or other related degree preferred
Experience in non-profit humanitarian development
Working knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) best practices
Computer literate (thorough understanding of MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel) with ability to learn new software and technology
Extensive working knowledge of cross-cultural environments and customs
Critical thinker with strong research, analytical skills and ability to make sound recommendations and decisions
Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to take initiative, be innovative, work independently, and function as a team player
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with ability to train others
Flexible with ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to travel internationally as assigned, up to 30% of the year, mostly to Latin America
Spanish language skills preferred
