Position Summary:
The Guest Room Supervisor is responsible for all functions of the housekeeping department, including supervision of other housekeepers.
The Guest Room Supervisor will set the schedule for the other housekeepers and will ensure all housekeepers are performing up to company standards.
Guest Room Supervisor is required to fill-in when other housekeepers are absent.
I.
Position Responsibilities: Essential
Supervise and train all housekeeping staff according to company standard operating procedures
Schedule housekeeping staff based on company needs
Ensure all housekeepers are performing up to company standards
Ensure all guest rooms are serviced and cleaned according to company standards
Inspect and verify that all vacant rooms are ready to sell prior to opening
Establish standards for work of housekeeping staff
Ensure all housekeeping equipment is in good working order and notify General Manager if not
Fill-in when other housekeepers are absent
Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing company standards and procedures
Ensure adequate supplies of cleaning materials are available
Ensure that all employee, public, and guest areas are kept clean
Notify General Manager immediately of any safety and/or security violations of policy
Notify General Manager of any guest concerns
Maintain superior customer service when interacting with guest
Reconcile daily paperwork with General Manager prior to end of shift

Essential Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple staff members efficiently
Ability to use time management skills to effectively get task accomplished
Possess good knowledge of housekeeping/laundry standard operating procedures and techniques
Ability to follow instructions, directions and meet deadlines
Ability to read, understand, interpret information found in a variety of reports and other internal hotel information
Ability to read, speak and write in an efficient manner in order to interact with guests and staff.
Ability to compose and express thoughts in a clear and concise way to ensure effective communication
Ability and flexibility to work long hours on a regular basis as business conditions demand
Ability to manage multiple activities often in stressful situations and with time constraints
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

Preferred Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
Experience levels required may vary based on the size, volume and character of hotel
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school diploma
Any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Minimum 1-year housekeeping experience with proven skill and performance or 6 months’ supervisory experience in rooms division or related position
Possess good knowledge of housekeeping/laundry operations, cleaning standards and techniques
Ability to step in and perform a variety of housekeeping/laundry positions in response to business needs
Ability to visually inspect guest rooms, public areas, service areas, etc.
for quality in cleanliness and presentation
Ability to manage multiple activities often in stressful situations and with time constraints

Mental and Physical Demands
Physical Demands:
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
This position is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Indoor work with hard and carpeted surfaces
Standing for eight (8) hour shifts
Exposure to extreme weather conditions, cold and heat
