Vintage Fender Jazz Special Bass Guitar - $1,400 (chesapeake)

This Fender Jazz Special Bass was built in Fuji, Japan at the time when Fender was in the process of moving their facility so they contracted this Fuji facility to continue building their instruments.
The Fuji manufacturing plant was well known to put out many quality guitars and basses.
The serial # is Q013804, the Q indicates that it was built in either 1993 or 1994.
Not sure what the other numbers tell us, probably the exact year and some of the features.
The neck is straight and made of maple with a rosewood fingerboard.
The precision style neck pickup is called a Dragster and the bridge Jazz style pickup is called a Hotrod.
The bass has active electronics and has a brand new Duracell 9v battery installed.
The bridge is a heavy duty solid brass Fender bridge.
The brass tuners are Gotoh which are made in Japan.
Everything on this bass is original and stock except for the 3 way switch which replaced a balance control knob.
Some bassists (myself included) prefer the 3 way switch over the balance knob.
The neck is very fast and comfortable, great for bassists with smaller hands or who just like being able to navigate around the neck easier.
The bass is on the light side, if I remember correctly its right at 8lbs but it feels lighter than that.
This comes with the quality soft case that you see pictured.

Just a heads up for buyers, think twice about buying any instruments from Japan, if you have a problem or want to return it for any reason, shipping is aprx $350 and most sellers will not pay that for you.
You can find these basses cheaper but probably not in the condition this one is in.
