Position Information Working Title of Vacant Position Licensed Clinician II - Emergency Services Job Type Full Time Posting Type Public Number of Vacancies 1 Department CHES INT BEHAV HEALTHC Division CIBH MENTAL HLTH SVC Requisition Number 2023519P Number of hours worked per week 40 Work Schedule Monday – Friday 12 am-8:30 am Work Site Location Chesapeake, VA [224 Great Bridge Blvd] Position Driving Requirement R - Routine Pay Grade GE16 Pay Basis Semi-Monthly Advertised Salary $66,702 – $88,380 annual starting salary range [starting rate depends on qualifications and experience] Plus an additional 10% supplemental pay Plus a possible additional shift differential pay Job Description Licensed Clinician II provides day-to-day oversight of Emergency Services (ES) including triage of community referrals at Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) and main office locations.
Typical tasks of the Licensed Clinician II: Provides supervision and annual evaluations for Emergency Services Clinicians.
On-call after-hours weekly rotation for purpose of case consultation.
Provides crisis assessment/intervention service that, in every case, utilizes the least restrictive means possible to meet the client’s needs.
Licensed Clinician II assists ES Supervisor with interviewing/hiring processes and training of new staff members.
Provides oversight/management of Safety Net Bed (state hospital) cases, re-commitment hearings at state hospitals, mandatory outpatient treatment, and Child/Mobile community cases.
Oversight of 24-hour Emergency Services schedule with ES leadership team.
Daily Quality Assurance audits and chart review.
Assists in the facilitation of ES staff meetings.
Licensed Clinician II performs other related duties as assigned.
Continual/ongoing collaboration with Chesapeake Police Dept and referral sources and attendance of CIT partner meetings.
This position is in a 24 hour/7 day a week program and will be scheduled to work holidays, and will accrue additional monthly leave on an accelerated basis.

#clinician #counselor #casemanagement #crisiscounselor Required Qualifications VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field, or other degree as approved by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this position requires a minimum of four years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires State of Virginia licensure as a Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Professional Counselor (LPC).
A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist MD/DO, or a Bachelor’s Prepared Registered Nurse (RN) with five years of experience may be considered in the Emergency Services Program.
May require Pre-Screening Certification within 6 weeks of employment (12 weeks for part-time staff) for those in the Emergency Services Program.
Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
