80 per hour Job Description The Chesapeake Expressway Division of Public Works is seeking part-time toll collectors to perform responsible clerical work in the collection of tolls charged to motorists for using the Chesapeake Expressway Toll Road.
Collectors are also responsible for ensuring we provide a safe environment and smooth traffic flow for the traveling public.
Essential duties include receiving and accounting for tolls/change, assessing and recording the appropriate toll, and maintaining the order and cleanliness of tollbooth work area.
Qualifications include general knowledge of the procedures of cashier duties, the ability to do simple arithmetic and to count and handle money with speed and accuracy, and the ability to serve the public courteously.
Required Qualifications VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Requires high school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of one month of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
