Chesapeake Care Clinic is seeking a RN for an available part-time Staff Nurse position.
We are a non-profit clinic for the un-insured, low-income ADULT patient.
Our clinic provides primary care along with several specialty clinics.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is expected to provide excellent, clinically competent patient care by planning, assessing and directing care as they effectively interact with the un-insured, low-income patients and the other healthcare team members.
The team here at Chesapeake Care consists of volunteer nurses, pharmacists, medical and specialty providers, staff nurses and medical assistants.
The primary focus of the RN is to ensure every patient receives quality care and services through the efficient use of resources.
*The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:*
· Provide staff support for medical and specialty clinics
· Coordinate patient care and follow-up given by providers
· Function as Discharge Nurse during clinic times as assigned:
* Complete appropriate test requisitions and/or referrals as needed
* Conduct patient education with clear explanations and instructions, ensuring that patient understands.
· Call physician’s office and/or hospital when needed.
· Complete process for labs/tests/surgeries/procedures coming from off-site specialty providers.
· When needed call and schedule off-site specialty appointments.
· Prepare for on-site specialty clinics
· Conduct nurse visits as needed
· Ensure crash cart equipment is in proper working order and emergency meds current.
· Retrieve and respond to voice mail messages left on Nurses extension in a timely manner.
·Perform necessary follow-up after medical director has reviewed test results
*Minimum education and qualification requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:*
Minimum Required Education: Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or compact state.
*Proof of Hep B vaccine*
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
*Chesapeake Care utilizes electronic medical records, making computer literacy a must.

Preferred Education: BSN
Preferred Experience: At least one year RN experience in a clinic setting for chronic care preferred.
*Preferred: Bilingual - Spanish & English*
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.
66 - $27.
00 per hour
