* *SUMMARY OF POSITION:* *Substance Use Disorder Support Staff (“Support Staff”) are responsible for supporting and monitoring Agency clients and ensuring the facility and physical environment are safe and clean and perform other duties assigned by the Clinical Administrator.

Support Staff will also work with the Facilities Manager to ensure the facility is safe and clean.
Support Staff report directly to assigned Therapists or Counselors.
Essential Functions A.
Interacts with clients and provides guidance and direction; B.
Identifies emergency signals and situations and notifies clinical staff; C.
Provides clients with daily schedules; D.
Ensures clients are aware of and attend counseling and case management sessions; E.
Facilitates social groups and recovery activities; F.
Assists with the preparation of meals and cleaning of the facility; G.
Monitors the facility to ensure it is maintained in a clean, neat, and orderly manner; H.
May assist with food preparation for clients when properly trained and certified: I.
May assist in transporting clients when designated to do so and properly trained and licensed; J.
May assist clients with medication when designated to do so and properly trained and certified; and K.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Agency Expectations A.
Adhere to all policies and procedures; B.
Maintain absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families, and staff and adhere to all HIPPA rules; C.
Displays a positive and professional image and attitude in all relationships with staff, clients, families, peers, and in the community: D.
Participates in committees and in the Quality Improvement Plan, Strategic Plan, etc.
as requested; E.
Participate in safety programs, etc.
as requested; F.
Encourage staff to make suggestions for improvement for all Agency operations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: A.
High School Diploma or equivalent; B.
Peer Recovery Specialist preferred; C.
Food Handler’s Permit preferred; D.
A minimum of 1 year of work experience in the Recovery Support field; E.
Knowledge of substance abuse; and F.
Personal characteristics of maturity and professionalism with a sincere desire to work with recovering individuals.
Other Requirements: Applicants will be required to authorize a background check and submit to drug testing.
Failure to do so will disqualify applicants for consideration for the position.
Work Environment: Support Staff will work both indoors and outdoors with clients and in meetings with staff.
The job will require 4-6 hours per day standing or walking, 3-4 hours sitting, and 1-3 hours per day working on a computer or computer equipment.
The position requires empathy; understanding of individuals in recovery; respect for privacy, and a genuine desire to help people in recovery on a regular basis.
May occasionally work longer than 8 hours/day.
