Housekeeping Supervisor OVERVIEW The Housekeeping Supervisory position at The Founders Inn and Spa Company entails supervising and motivating housekeeping associates.
The primary focus is to ensure that all guest rooms meet property brand standards in cleanliness, quality, and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES Know Your Job: Complete job skills training and possess a clear knowledge of the job.
Understand property brand standards and room types.
Listen attentively in pre-shift meetings and ask for clarification of assignments and expectations.
Be On Time: Read your schedule, follow attendance guidelines, and report to work on time and in the proper uniform.
Follow clock in and out procedures.
Be On Stage: Maintain a friendly, approachable, always willing to assist attitude.
Follow property personal appearance and uniform standards, practice good personal hygiene.
Use approved verbiage and scripting when interacting with all guests.
Follow proper procedure and scripting when entering a guest room.
Serve: Conduct yourself professionally and collaboratively with guests and fellow associates.
Train and coach Room Attendants and Housepersons using approved training materials.
Work Smart: Use the Room Attendant Boards for instructions on sequence, special requests, and clean types.
Work on the same floor and closely with the Room Attendants assigned to you to maintain pace and be readily available for assistance.
Inspect and score cleaning of all rooms methodically and promptly.
Use Your Tools: Ensure carts or caddies are set up to standard.
Use approved tools and checklists to complete assigned tasks.
Collect room assignment sheets from Room Attendants to ensure all rooms have been cleaned and inspected.
Measure Up: Ensure the inspection and turnover of clean guest rooms meet or exceed quality and efficiency standards.
Respect the Space: Keep work area, cart, and closets clean and organized.
Report and ensure resolution of any deficiencies in rooms or public areas promptly.
Be Safe: Report unsafe work conditions or practices and safety or security violations in accordance with company policy.
Support the Team: Cooperate with other Associates and supervisors to create a positive work environment.
Support team efforts through carrying out responsibilities in a constructive and professional manner.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Good attitude and work ethic practices.
·Ability to interact with hotel/resort guests and staff.
·Ability to speak English preferred.
·Prior housekeeping work experience preferred.
·Prior experience and good references as a Room Attendant, one year preferred, to reflect stability.
·Good verbal communication skills, ability to read and write English ·Team building and motivation skills.
·Willingness to receive development and supervisory training.
EXPERIENCE One year of experience as a housekeeper in the hotel industry.
A commensurate or transferable skill set is the primary consideration - past work as a hospital surgery room inspector, prison cleaning squad leader, etc.
EDUCATION High School diploma or GED, or overseas equivalent is desired.
