Position: Student Success Coach (Interventionist)
Reports To: Principal

Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies is a public regional STEM school serving students in grades 5-12.
Our coaches facilitate learning through hands-on, project, and problem-based instruction that is thoughtfully designed to challenge students.

Position Purpose
The NEAAAT Success Coach is responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning
experience for students.
To increase key metrics, such as successful mastery of North Carolina standards, completion of promotion requirements, student retention, and positive school culture, the Success Coach helps students develop academic skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to their academic performance and personal and professional success.
Major duties and responsibilities include providing NC standards instruction and instruction in academic goal setting, study skills, and self-efficacy.
The Success Coach provides ongoing communication, support, and follow-up to maximize goal attainment and student success.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Liaison between students, parents, and coaches;
Assess students and groups of students using various tests;
Attends and participates in data analysis meetings;
Provides input regarding the development and implementation of an intervention plan;
Uses data to provide instruction to students and improve their standard mastery;
Monitors the progress, maintains records, and communicates with parents and coaches;
Participates in evaluations of the intervention plan;
Prepares reports for parents, coaches, and the Student Support Team regularly;
Works with the Instructional Team and coaches to teach intervention tactics;
Attends the appropriate training to improve knowledge and skills;
Assists students with setting goals and identifying, planning for, and overcoming potential obstacles;
Builds rapport and trust with students to support successful learning and goal completion;
Monitors student progress toward goals;
Supports coaches and program efforts to infuse instruction with persistence and success strategies;
Assists students and instructors to problem solve issues that arise related to progress toward academic goals, persistence, and attendance;
Monitors student assessment scores, grades, assignment completion, and attendance;
Collaborates and communicates with coaches to maximize student success;
Maintains instruction logs or student files to track contact hours, interventions, and outcomes of sessions and student portfolios with appropriate documentation
Maintains confidentiality of student information;
Other
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested by the principal.
Prepares and submits accurate reports, as required.
Follows all rules, policies, and procedures of NEAAAT, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to school issues.
Consistently demonstrates a positive attitude toward the job and remains a highly flexible and innovative team builder.
Qualifications
Formal Education & Certification
Associate degree or higher preferred.
Training provided to high potential candidates.
Knowledge & Experience
Familiarity with various software applications used at the school.
Understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community, and cultural differences on student success.
Ability to work effectively in a collegial, team-centered environment.
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
Good organizational skills and communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong customer-service orientation.
