POSITION SUMMARY: The Master Personal Trainer will provide one-on-one supervision and instruction by developing personalized workouts to members while using the Y Wellness Centers.
The Master Personal Trainer is responsible for assisting the Family Center in membership development and retention through quality instruction and continuous follow-up.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide quality member service Develop, document and implement one-on-one and group workout programs that match the needs and goals of clients.
Instruct clients on basic exercise physiology and inform them as to proper lifting and exercise technique.
Provide clients with exercise and nutritional recommendations to meet their desired fitness goals Conduct pre/post health & wellness assessments which include: Functional Movement System, VO2 Max, and Nutrition/Lifestyle Assessment Maintain client files per YMCA Goldbook standards Demonstrate on-going competence in providing one-on-one and group personal training services to clients by creating creative and physiologically sound workouts Provide quality member service by proactively helping all members and at all times smile and be courteous.
Uphold the YMCA image standards and code of conduct.
Proactively market yourself to members to secure new personal training sessions.
Adhere to all YMCA policies and guidelines.
Wear appropriate YMCA Personal Trainer uniform: shirt and name tag.

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a current Personal Training Certification from a nationally recognized organization (ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NASM).
Successful completion and maintenance of YMCA Healthy Lifestyle prerequisites.
Previous experience working with special populations.
A minimum of five years of experience in personal and small group training field with demonstration of clientele success and sustainability.
Successful completion of Personal Training orientation and assessments reviews prior to facilitating member training sessions.
All candidates must be reviewed and approved by the Master Trainer committee.
Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multi-tasking.

Must be physically able to successfully complete required certifications.
