Food Service Technician I

*Food Service Technician I-Part time* * Maintains a clean and sanitary work station.
* Cooks and prepares food according to production guidelines and recipes.
* Ensures food is stored at the appropriate temperature for the appropriate length of time, and follows all food safety standards.
* Completes daily temperature logs * Evaluates food quality and preparedness by tasting.
* Responsible for using correct portions when cutting, preparing, and serving items.
* Adheres to the weekly/monthly cleaning schedules as posted by management.
* Responsible for loading and unloading food carts on and off the truck for delivery, with frequent lifting/transporting hot food items * Considerable experience in food preparation, serving and basic knowledge of large quantity food preparation.
* Ability to work with limited supervision.
* Must be able to lift and carry trays not in excess of 50 pounds.
* Must be able to work 8 hour rotating shifts, between the hours of 5am & 7:30pm including weekends and holidays.
* Assist with the duties of the Supervisor in their absence, observing all safety rules and regulations.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Serve Safe Certification and/or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
* Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, cost controls and operating and repairing food service equipment.
* Knowledge of food product, identification, and acceptable level of food quality.
* Must know methods of food preparation, cooking times, and portion sizes to ensure food is prepared in prescribed manner.
* Demonstrated ability to monitor and supervise the work of others.
* Ability to drive the Food Service truck and deliver food to the homes as needed.
* Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position which may include working inside the kitchen area, interacting with heated equipment, steam, loud noise, chemicals and other at-risk conditions.
Involves repetitive motion.
* Knowledge of the Board of Health food safety regulations and demonstrated ability to adhere to them.
* Able to stand for long periods of time * Driver's License required Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $12.
