Child Care Administrative Assistant

Summary Wise Scholars is currently looking for an Administrative Assistant at our Chesapeake location! The Administrative Assistant oversees many aspects of our center and is responsible for assisting in the overall care, supervision, and management of all children and team members entrusted to Wise Scholars! We are looking for someone who shares a passion for a play-based curriculum, a deep love for the genuine care and education of young children, someone who promotes and encourages teamwork and someone who has great communication and leadership skills! We are looking for the Administrative Assistant to start as soon as possible! Schedule Must have OPEN availability Monday-Friday Full Time Position 35-40 hours a week Duties Create and maintain a clean, positive, safe, and loving atmosphere Food prep AM and PM snack each week (for toddler-PreK classrooms) Assist in overseeing day to day operations and implement state licensing standards Comfortable working in a classroom as an extra set of hands or to fill in for shifts when staff call-off or as needed Ensure safety, health, and caring management of all children entrusted to the facility Answer phones and help answer questions from potential future families Give tours to potential new families and new hires Assist in creating staff and parent gifts/projects Maintain Clock In/Clock Out Software Required to attend all staff meetings, PreK Graduation, and annual picnics Designated person in charge when director and/or assistant director are out of the building Requirements - Must be at least 21 years of age - Have a high school diploma - Have current certification CPR First Aid - Clean background check - Negative TB test results - Required health and safety trainings required by the State of Virginia Nice To Haves Early Childhood Education Experience Previous Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant Experience Current Food Handlers Certification Benefits Team member of the month eligible Annual anniversary bonus Reimbursement bonus 401K eligible after 6 months
