Manages the development, delivery and evaluation of a comprehensive, facility-wide Preservice training and development program for the organization multidisciplinary, non-clinical, management, support and contract staff.
Implements an environmental-based training program to new DSA, DSP, and other medical professionals to ensure that proper policies and procedures are learned in pre-service and competency is accurately demonstrated by the employee.
Acts as a liaison for new employees in their transition from pre-service training into the homes.
Assists the staff training department in administrative duties relating to Medication/G-tube checkoffs, maintenance of training files and preparation for upcoming training classes.
Functions as a role-model to all employees by following Center policies and procedures, providing competent care, utilizing therapeutic communication, and modeling appropriate professional behavior.
TOVA Instructor, CPR Instructor.
Directly related experience working in a Mental Health, ID/DD, or Psychology field.
Experience supervising trainees.
Prefer completion of 2-day Person Centered Thinking training.
Associate’s degree or completed Pathways program
Previous experience in supervision of staff required to include hands on experience as a supervisor handling attendance, attitude issues, discipline, payroll, job descriptions, work scheduling, performance, mediation between staff, coaching, leave, and career counseling.
