We are an established, team-based private practice looking for an enthusiastic & friendly person to join us.
As an Optometric Technician with our team, you'll play a crucial role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients.
Experience is a plus, but not necessary.
We are willing to train the right person.
*Responsibilities:*
*Pre-Examination Procedures:*
* Initiate patient evaluation, documenting the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, and all pertinent ocular findings.
* Perform preliminary eye tests such as visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and intraocular pressure measurements.
*Diagnostic Testing:*
* Assist optometrists in conducting diagnostic tests and procedures.
* Operate ophthalmic equipment such as auto-refractors, tonometer, visual field analyzers, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) machines.
*Contact Lens Services:*
* Provide support in contact lens fittings, including taking accurate measurements of the cornea and assisting patients with lens selection.
* Instruct patients on proper contact lens insertion, removal, and care techniques.
*Administrative Duties:*
* Scribe: Maintain and record documentation in the patient's chart.
* Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic and equipment.
* Monitor email and maintain communication with reps, pharmacies, support, etc.
* Complete requests for prescription refills as authorized by the physician, with full documentation in the patient chart.
* Patient Education and Support:
* Provide clear and concise instructions to patients regarding eye care procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
* Address patient concerns and inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
* Promote eye health awareness and compliance with treatment plans.
* Open and close exam rooms daily, ensuring equipment is wiped down, slit lamps and projectors are switched off under covers.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining confidentiality.
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Experience is not required, we are willing to train the right candidate.
