Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide.
Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
The Finance Controller is the principal financial advisor to the Company's president.
He/she is responsible for leading, directing, and overseeing all activities and functional units within finance such as reporting, financial planning and analysis, cash management, tax management, financial risk management, finance policies, compliance and control, finance operations (which includes accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll), and budgeting.
S/he will oversee the Company's capital structure and investments including financial oversight of its various subsidiaries and joint ventures, will support the informational needs of the Company's operating units, and will contribute to the Company's strategic planning.
Our salary range for this position is based on the market data, $150k to $165k per annum (the range varies depending on experience and qualifications).
Key responsibilities: Serve as a key advisor to the president and all business unit heads with respect to matters of finance.
Provide guidance that will help the Company achieve its long-term profit and profitability objectives.
Assist the president in formulating the Company’s strategic plan.
Collaborate with division heads to develop financial plans, maximize profit margins, and ensure company-wide operational compliance.
Initiate and oversee the development of reports to help business unit heads manage their units and meet financial goals.
Direct profitability analyses of the Company’s various projects and lines of business to assist the business development unit in focusing its activities effectively.
Evaluate financial risks and recommend risk-mitigating strategies to the president and business unit heads.
Coordinate with peers at the Company’s non-domestic subsidiaries and joint ventures to ensure policy and procedural consistency where possible, and to ensure that the activities of those entities do not jeopardize the cash, profit, and tax management objectives of PMG LLC.
Coordinate with the VP-Internal Audit to ensure Finance’s compliance with its internal policies and procedures, along with any externally imposed compliance requirements, and that appropriate safeguards are in place within Finance.
Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial data.
Manage the company's cash flow to minimize borrowing needs.
Oversee regulatory filings for the company and its domestic subsidiaries and joint ventures.
Manage the Company’s income tax obligations, along with those flowing to the Company’s members, to minimize those taxes over time while stabilizing tax obligations from period to period to the fullest extent possible.
Establish and maintain relationships with third-party partners, such as consultants, banks, accountants, auditors, and tax specialists.

Mentor and provide guidance to other business groups and units related to the company's operations and U.

Qualifications to be successful in the role: Must have a government contracting background.
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
15 years’ industry experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with Unanet is preferred.
Possess advanced leadership, financial management, and performance management skills.
Experience collaborating effectively within a global finance and accounting team, including international entities.
Exceptional presentation skills and a commanding professional presence.
Lead teams and effectively engage with clients.
Strong knowledge of financial and accounting systems (e.
g.
QuickBooks, project management applications, and Microsoft Office), relevant accounting standards, and financial reporting frameworks.
Eligibility to obtain a secret clearance.
Minimum seven years of leadership experience.
2 years of public accounting experience desired.
CPA certification is desired.
High level of trustworthiness, given the sensitive nature of the role.
Must be willing to commit to more than 40-hour work weeks when the situation requires it.
