Controller

Responsibilities: Allan Myers is looking for a dedicated and experienced Controller to join our team of professionals.
This position requires extensive Accounting/Finance knowledge, with a concentration in the heavy civil construction industry.

Responsibilties: Communicates, models, and continuously reinforces company culture and leadership practices with other team members including Values, Safety, Delay-Free Production, Ethics Policy, and the Collaborative Way.
Oversees an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and the efficient reporting of all monthly financial information.
Reviews budget and forecasting activites for the department.
Oversees development of more efficient procedures and use of resources for the department while maintaining a high-level of accuracy.
Advises leadership teams regarding the handling of critical and high-impact non-routine reporting transactions.
Responds to inquiries from senior leaders regarding financial results, special reporting requests, and similar reporting questions.
Oversees a clean and on-time year-end audit.
Leads the development and utilization of financial models and analysis for Finance & Accounting staff.
Manages, supervises, trains, and leads Finance & Accounting staff and processes.
Consistently excercies independent judgement and discretion in critical and high-impact matters related to the department.
Drives a culture of growth and development by identifying opportunities for personal and department improvement.
Keeps oneself abreast of the latest industry trends and developments in area of Finance & Accounting and ensures application of knowledge to department's work as needed.
Collaborates with cross-department leaders on matters related to Finance & Accounting.
Complies with continuing education requirements; participates in professional organizations, independent study, etc.
Ensures compliance with accounting best practices and internal control procedures.
Performs other miscellaneous projects as assigned.

Qualifications: Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 8-10 years experience.
Comparable industry experience with a degree other than Accounting will be considered.
CPA Certification a plus, but not required.
Significant accounting experience with heavy/civil construction.
Significant experience in working in a quick-paced environment and under pressure.
Experience leading a functional team in a leadership capacity.
