Job Description
Do you have experience with processing benefit enrollment and payroll deductions? Are you a natural at working with numbers to balance and reconcile accounts?
This position is responsible for processing benefit enrollment for health, dental and vision coverage for approximately 3,000 city employees.
In this position you will be required to maintain city benefit deductions, review for accuracy, research and resolve any discrepancies.
This position serves as backup for processing the weekly in-house payroll for approximately 650 employees utilizing an automated time and attendance system and integrated payroll system in the centralized Payroll Division of Finance.
Strong accounting and Excel spreadsheet experience.
Applies in-depth knowledge of payroll principals including federal, state, and City laws and regulations, deductions; and benefits that affect the payroll processes.
Administers and processes all benefit enrollments in the Munis system.
Approximately 550 new enrollments annually.
Responsible for coordinating COBRA insurance coverage, this entails receiving the documents, setting up participants in Munis, creating life events for deductions and processing invoice in Mainframe.
Balances and reconciles monthly benefit bills.
Works closely with vendors for any issues.
Communicates effectively, provides guidance, and resolves benefit related issues and questions timely.
Works with benefit providers to support client benefits administration, resolve eligibility, vendor invoicing issues.
Assists with testing and validating new payroll system enhancements and functions as required and pertains to benefits and open enrollment.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrates ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and demonstrates good time management skills.
Responsible weekly benefit transmission files; verifies delivery of file and enrollments.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
