*Responsibilities* * Check hours on employee timesheets.
* Calculate and process accurate payments to employees by cash, check or electronic transfer, ensuring strict deadlines are met.
* Handle and respond to discrepancies and queries relating to payroll.
* Provide assistance to Human Resources if required.
* Process bi-weekly payroll for 90+ employees in a timely and accurate manner * Submit and process direct deposit payments to bank * Process employee W-4 withholdings, garnishments, child support * Process Federal (EFTPS) and State (EDD) Tax deposits * Prepare all tax filings – multi state * Prepare year end W-2s * Provide professional and courteous customer service to all employees * Maintain confidentiality with all payroll information * Troubleshoot time collection and payroll related issues * Support audit requests related to payroll * Responsible for payroll analytics servicing all Payroll reporting requests from internal and external sources * Create reports in COGNOS Query Studio to enhance management and review of payroll information for analysis, problem solving and audits * Performs all other duties as assigned and/or requested * Reconcile benefit bills monthly *Qualifications* * 3-5 years of payroll experience required * CPP designation a plus * Prior transition/system conversion experience a plus * Familiarity with SCA and H&W * Previous experience with Deltek Cost Point required * Previous experience with Paychex * Previous experience which demonstrates numeracy and literacy skills * Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Experience creating and using spreadsheets *Skills* * Detail-oriented.
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills * Good timekeeping and an ability to meet strict deadlines * Organized, logical and methodical approach * Flexibility.
Busy periods may require longer working hours * Strong communication skills * Ability to use own initiative * Good communicator.
Team player * Knowledge of Government contracting practices a plus * Experience using computerized payroll and accounting software a must Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.
